At the heart of the Gospel lies the cross — not as a symbol of defeat, but of divine triumph. While Jesus’ teachings inspired many, it was His death and resurrection that opened the way to life. Redemption's price was nothing less than the life of the Son of God Himself. This report explores why only the death of Christ could satisfy God’s justice, remove guilt, and restore fellowship with Him.
Why did Jesus have to die? Humanity’s deepest problem is not ignorance or poverty—it is sin. Since Adam’s rebellion in the Garden, death and guilt have reigned over the human race (Genesis 2:16–17; Romans 5:12). Death is not natural; it is the direct consequence of disobedience. Every funeral reminds us of sin’s terrible wages. Redemption, therefore, required a substitute—someone to bear our sins and take our place under judgment.
