The Light Still Shines! August, 2023 Pray Bff
Here are two overseas ministry updates:
First, Pastor Jagannath arrived to stay with us for a few days this morning. He will share at our church Wednesday evening and at a gathering at our home on Thursday. He started KMM (Click to see the video), a strategic ministry to the unreached Bengali people. Please pray for his stomachache.
Second, the Indian Zoom pastor-training course, Overcoming Anxiety: Finding Peace, Discovering God has begun! Three sessions are completed, complete with translations and videos, already added to the BFF website. The attendees aren’t many, but they are precious. (We had to shift times one week due to flooding and frogs croaking too loudly!) The pastors appreciate these lessons as they have many day-to-day challenges and threats of spreading persecution.
Have you heard of a SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast)? It’s like a baby that grows from Linda’s homemade Kombucha. Well, that image came to mind recently of how a new small book developed from a larger book. Pray for me as I finish the rough draft and get it to the editor. (By the way, if you would like to preview the books and submit comments before they go to the editor, please let me know. I’m always looking for helpful critiques.)
The book is radical in some ways, yet it just makes sense. It’s a global plan to utilize the church’s unity to complete the Great Commission. Keep praying!
Praise
- Despite some technical issues, the new Zoom class has already held three classes. They are greatly profiting from the class.
- It’s great to get encouraging phone calls from people who are so blessed from our resources, whether in the USA or overseas.
- Linda has generally felt well despite her heart condition (more below).
- Pastor Jagannath arrived this morning.
Pray
- We need extra grace during this time for our full house. Christy’s family (with 4 children) have temporarily moved in as they prep their house for sale. Though the opportunity with grandchildren is grand, we need extra grace and stamina.
- Pray for a possible Burma (Myanmar) Zoom class in the fall.
- Pray for Jagannath, the leader of KMM India ministries, trying to spread the vision to reach the Bengali people, one of the largest unreached people groups. He is here in Raleigh this week. Pray for healing of his stomach pain. Pastor Jagannath arrived with stomach pain. Pray for healing.
- Keep Linda in prayer. We still seek healing so she doesn’t need the surgery (which doesn’t make her heart better).
- Paul seeks extra daily grace for writing on some demanding topics.
