Prayer Letter #400
Wow!
Dear Prayer Partners,
You prayed, God answered!
We had a fantastic and fully packed trip to Pittsburgh. We saw a tiny bit of snow traveling both ways. I completed the second edit of the soon-coming book, Evaluating Our Theological Conclusions, just before returning home. It was no vacation, but it was rewarding to be with our family members over Thanksgiving and many brothers and sisters at the Pittsburgh Chinese Church in Oakland (PCCO) to celebrate Pastor Jesse’s ordination. Next year PCC will celebrate its 60-year anniversary and PCCO’s 30th year. Time has flown by. I remember canvassing Oakland with one of our elders way back in 1995.
This trip brought excitement on top of excitement! Our grandson, Arthur Emerson Bucknell, was safely born to Daniel and Meredith while we were there. We brought Thanksgiving dinner to them at the hospital! They are doing well. I didn’t dare pray for such timing but hoped for it.
Praise
- The PCCO ordination of Pastor Jesse went well. I’m mindful of the need for younger pastors—though I don’t think I thought much at being on the older side.
- Teaching videos for Unity: The Forgotten Treasure and the series, The Godly Man: When God Touches a Man’s Life, are being completed weekly. Only two or three are left for the Unity course, four for the other.
- The November message Magnificent Promises from 2 Peter 1:4 went well.
- Isaac’s trip to Sweden went well, but he still seeks a job.
- Linda got a medication yesterday that significantly helped her cough.
- Praise the Lord, this is our 400th prayer letter! Wow!
Pray
- Paul is helping out at the year-end Chinese Mission Conference in Baltimore by managing joint session small groups. Pray for blessing and safety.
- Pray for 2025 BFF plans. I will take the 35 videos for the Overcoming Anxiety class and use AI to translate them into a few languages to test the system (see last prayer letter). I’ll start with limited languages like Hindi and Chinese, which can be quickly evaluated by people I know.
- I hope to work on Book 2: Quality Times With God by year’s end.
- Pray for God’s blessing on our finances, only receiving 35% general funding. Whether more or less, God has always provided for us.
- BFF’s annual board meeting is on December 11.
